Old Thorntonians Performance Index – OTPI 2017/18 – Week 1
Welcome to this season’s first OTPI update.
For the new lads, this is the OTs version of the Premier League Fantasy Football League that a number of you have joined. Hopefully you finish the season with more points than Barry Lundie currently has, propping up the OTs league in 46th place!!
We all get points for what we do on the pitch as per the graphic below: goals, assists, clean sheets, through to the man of the match. You can also get negative points for yellow cards (see Keats), stamps, trying to show off to your missus, getting sent off (Ken Acer) or missing penos (Phil Boden). Think of this as a little incentive to up your game each week, but don’t be greedy (Billy) as assists also count!
As you may have seen on the Old Thorntonians FC facebook page, we’ve been updating the Team of the Week and once a month you will get the spreadsheet to see where you’re at. The competition is hot and there’s loads of prizes at the end of season, including the prestigious OTPI team of the season vs the Chairman’s XI match! Prizes include overall winner, top GK, DF, MF, ST and top goalscorer. Last year after a battle of throw in assists between Rich Lundie and Charlie Whight, Wayne Ebanks swept up 3 awards from the OTPI including overall champ and joining such illustrious names as Foxy Rodriguez, Richard Scott and er…Olly Chesterman.
Best of luck to you all!
