As Club Chairman task is to ensure regular committee meetings take place, that any pressing issues get discussed and that everyone on the committee is kept informed of what’s happening in other areas of the club. My ambition remains to make the OT’s the best amateur club in London both on and off the pitch and in that regard I think we’re well on our way.
As a midfielder Stu is one of Old Thorntonians’ most experienced players (ie: he is really, really old) and was therefore the default choice to become Chairman when the position was vacated by OTs legend Ozzie Powell. As it turns out he is magnificent chairman acting as a father figure to all at the club, grandfather in some cases. Looking at Peter Ridsdale, Vincent Tan, George Reynolds and Ken Bates, Stu thankfully ignored all their methods to forge his own successful path to Chairmanship. Recently celebrated his 40th birthday for about the 6th time. Player most likely to cancel a holiday just to play on a Saturday
